Alanna & Mitch’s Backyard Wedding in Junortoun

Let’s throw it back to high school, where Alanna and Mitch technically met through mutual friends—but according to Mitch, that part’s a bit hazy. Their real first memory? A mutual friend’s 18th. Mitch slid into the DMs not long after, and soon they were out on their first date: ice cream at Rosalind Park (Cold Rock, of course—respect). Movie nights, long drives, and plenty of laughs later, they made it official on the 14th of November, 2014. The rest? History.

Fast forward to 31st of April, 2023—Mitch organised a sneaky photo shoot at Huntly Reserve under a big old eucalyptus tree. With their photographer friend Chloe Smith in on the surprise, Mitch popped the question mid-shoot. Spoiler alert: she said yes and they got some gorgeous pictures to remember the special moment.

And that brings us to their wedding day in the backyard of Alannas childhood home in Junortoun—a celebration that was relaxed, rustic, and full of heart.

A Backyard Wedding With All the Good Vibes

Think warm, earthy tones, eucalyptus everywhere, and handmade touches that felt like home. Their backyard Marquee setup was perfect space to bring all their favourite people together—with their dogs front and centre too (yes, there’s a photo of the pups, and yes, it’s as cute as it sounds).

The ceremony was sweet and full of laughs—then came the mid-aisle dip and kiss with confetti flying. Definately a main character moment.

Bridal Party Energy = 100% absolutely loved these guys haha.

Alanna and Mitch’s crew came ready to celebrate, and let me tell you—the bridal party photos were a blast. From cheeky groomsmen antics to bridesmaids hyping each other up like pros, this bunch brought all the good energy.

They were the kind of friends who cheer you on, fix your veil, crack jokes during portraits, and sneak you snacks. Dream team.

Golden Hour, Cold Beers & A Packed Dancefloor

After the “I do’s,” we snuck away for some portraits while the guests kicked off the celebrations.

There were plenty of drinks flowing, good food going ‘round, and a dancefloor that didn’t quit. From bridal party antics to wild spins and heartfelt hugs, this crew knew how to party.

And honestly? That’s what made it so special. It wasn’t about ticking boxes—it was about celebrating love in a way that felt so them.

Alanna and Mitch, thank you for letting me be part of your story. Your day was full of so much love, laughter, and energy—and capturing it was a total joy.
