Imagine your ideal wedding. The location is perfect, there’s a good supply of bevies and the playlist is just your vibe. Sound to good to be true? Well, it’s not as hard as you think, to have the modern country wedding of your dreams. I’ve made a list of must-haves to make your day perfect!

Please take note; the list is in order of appearance not importance, so read on to learn about the most important things for your big day.

A Breathtaking Location

The best thing about a country style wedding is the backdrop for your ceremony can be in your own, or someone else’s back paddock. Just think. Dusty tracks lined with smokey colored gum trees. Dry grass and timber against a blue sky. Even an open paddock with nothing more than the natural ground and the color of the sky on the day holds true unbridled beauty.

The Arbor and the Aisle

There’s nothing like a rustic arbor decorated for the wedding day with lace, flowers, or fresh green foliage. And the aisle can be the earth under your feet, with fallen gum leaves peppering the path for a natural easy going feel. Or you can dress up the ceremony location with flowers of color and white.

But the true beauty of having a breathtaking background for your ceremony is that you can get away with no arbor and no decorations at all, you’ll be surrounded by the perfect background to exchange your vows!

Haybale Seating

If the celebration is outdoors, with the open air around you, you’ll still need somewhere for everyone to take the weight off their feet. Small bales of hay or straw can be used to create a rustic border and double as seating (these are also great for the ceremony).

A Good Supply of Beverages

This is going to be the best party ever and there’s nothing worse than the supply going dry. So, make sure you’ve got the list sorted (and over cater if you can afford to because let’s face it, it won’t go to waste). With a good supply of beer, wine, and spirits on hand you’ll have the most important finishing touches nailed for the reception.

Your Western Boots

You will cherish your wedding day footwear forever so why not wear something you love. Western, or, cowgirl boots can complete the look. You can even buy western boots especially for brides! But...you know, for individuality and comfort, you can’t beat a pair that you already have in your wardrobe. They’re the boots you chose because you loved them from when you first saw them on the shelf, and they’ll look great under your wedding dress. What’s more, you can do the whole day and dance the night away in your wedding boots.

A Great Wedding Playlist (With a Little Country)

No matter what your taste in music, getting your playlist right can be the difference between having some music and creating a vibe. Don’t forget, it’s a romantic day and you want everyone to get the feel of this. So, pepper your playlist with the odd romantic theme for that loved up feeling. Think: “I Don’t Dance” (Lee Brice), “Die a Happy Man” (Thomas Rhett) “Big Big Plans” (Chris Lane) “And She’s Everything” (Brad Paisley). But most important of all, you need to make the playlist long, with great music to dance to all night, because this will be one hell of a party!

And Last but Not Least – A Drop-Dead Gorgeous Dress That Looks Fab Against It All

Of course, this is one of the most important things to have. I didn’t need to tell you that. But let me share a secret with you... it doesn’t matter how great the background, how fantastic the grog or even how fantastic the music is... all eyes are on you, the bride. And you’ll only wear your wedding dress once so make sure it ticks all your boxes. I know it’s going to look fabulous, so wear it with a smile and have the best day ever!

That’s it babe, enjoy your modern country wedding xx
