Erin + Ryan, Waratah Weddings

Oh, where to begin with Erin and Ryan's special day at Waratah Weddings? These two have the kind of love story that makes you grin like an idiot – from their Woolworths meet-cute to that hilarious proposal mishap (don’t worry, I’ll get to that part!). Let’s just say their wedding was as full of heart as it was unpredictable Victorian weather.

Erin and Ryan met as colleagues at Woolies and stayed in the “friend zone” for four years before things started heating up. Their first date? A sweet, early morning coffee date at the Boardwalk Café after the gym. Ryan just happened to frequent the gym more often when Erin was there—purely coincidental, I’m sure! 😉

Fast forward, and Ryan pulls off a surprise proposal during a weekend getaway to Hepburn Springs. Picture this: Erin, with a bright red work shirt on her head to protect her hair from the rain, walking around while Ryan is trying to get her in the moment. It took some convincing (and a little laughter), but he finally got her to take the shirt off. He got down on one knee and said the words that made her say “YES” instantly! Classic Ryan move though—he forgot to hit record on the phone. So, no video, but honestly, does it get more memorable than that?

Let’s talk about the wedding because, wow, what a day! It was one of those classic Victorian weather days—pouring rain one second, sunshine the next. Luckily, the skies cleared just in time for their ceremony (thank you, weather gods 🙌).

Erin was surrounded by her bestie and sisters, who were there every step of the way, cheering her on. And Ryan? His groomsmen were the ultimate wingmen, cracking jokes and keeping him cool as a cucumber.

A recurring phrase throughout the day, and honestly a fitting motto for their relationship, was WWRD: What Would Ryan Do? It summed up Ryan’s calm and thoughtful approach to everything—from convincing Erin to take the shirt off her head during the proposal to making sure their day went off without a hitch.

Their ceremony took place during the hottest part of the day, but you wouldn’t have known it by the way their guests were fully locked in. Celebrant Georgia had everyone captivated as she shared their story, complete with all the sweet (and funny) moments that brought Erin and Ryan to this day.

Erin and Ryan, your wedding was such a joy to capture. From your adorable beginnings to your rainy proposal to this beautiful day at Waratah Weddings, every moment was filled with so much love, laughter, and a touch of WWRD magic.

What would Ryan do? Marry the love of his life, Erin.

Here’s to many more adventures, more mishaps that turn into great stories, and a lifetime of happiness together. You two are something truly special.

Cheers to Erin + Ryan! 🥂
