5 Tips for a Stress-Free Wedding Day
Let me step you through your wedding day – stress free.
It’s your big day.
This is it....
You partied a little hard at the hens’ night/girls get together last night. And even though you were well and truly dead on your feet tired, you laid awake through the night thinking about the big day.
You went through every step, over thought every move, and went over every moment in intricate steps in your mind.
When the morning finally shows through the window, it’s been one of the longest nights you can remember, but here it is finally – your big day.
Makeup is done and so is the hair. So, just breath, as your bridesmaid zips you into your dress. You’ll soon be walking down the aisle, and best of all walking back as husband and wife, celebrating with family and friends.
You’ve organized your vendors
Take a deep breath and relax. Remember – you’ve completed your pre-wedding photo shoot and
you know you’ll feel comfortable behind the camera. You’ve also spent the past months putting the plans in place to make the day the very best. The help you and your partner both receive from the bridal party and your family will go a long way to keep things running smoothly. But it’s your vendors that will be a huge support, you’ve had them with you during all the planning – and now it’s time to relax and let them do their thing.
And don’t forget, your wedding photographer will be there, each moment. Capturing the vibe and making it something for you and your partner, to hold forever.
Trust your own decisions
Friends and family always want to help. And their intentions are usually good. But if you feel strongly about something, go with your own feelings. It’s your day to shine and it’s a day for you and your partner to remember forever. Like they say, this is your day. Don’t be swayed if you feel strongly about something – stick to it.
Go with the flow
Not every day in life is perfect. And your wedding is another day after all. So, if your candles don’t remain lit, your lipstick smudges, or heaven forbid it rains, laugh it off, because it’s the only day that you’ll get married. Change the things you have control over, laugh about the things you don’t. And anyway, rain can make a great forever effect in your wedding photos.
Remember to breathe
I know this is something you probably hear a lot, and it sounds a bit hard to believe. But it’s true. Sometimes when we’re tense, we breathe in small shallow breaths which can lead to lightheadedness and even more tension. If you feel yourself becoming tense, take a conscious breath in from your nose and out through your mouth, you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.
Don’t sweat the small stuff
Stay focused on the prize. Your wedding day is ultimately all about committing to the person that you are going to marry. Put any doubts about trivial things out of your mind and focus on the moment that you and your partner’s eyes meet. This is what all the planning, all the decisions and maybe even a tear or two were all for. And wow. It’ll all be worth it!
Congrats, and most of all, remember to smile and have a fabulous day xx
